I have a Pioneer that has two sets of Rca's outputs on it. Its the DEH P3500 model. If I run just one set of Rca's back from the front outputs and use y-adapter on the amp will that make much difference in sound than if I ran both sets back? The radio has a eq-ex button on it and the rear outputs don't even get efected by this extra feature. The rear outputs are suppose to be for subs actually. They can be use as full range also. One of the Rca's are non-fading type.

So you're using the output for highpass, for door speakers? If so then thats fine. This way it's affected by the eq.

If you're using the output for sub(s), then why not just use the lowpass x-over and level control for it (which it should have if it is a sub output)? That should be enough by itself, without the need for an eq.

I am going to run four mids and highs speakers off a 4-channel amp. I was just curious if splitting the rca's with y-adapters would lower the signal strength or not? I don't really want to use the rear rca outputs because they don't get effected by that extra eq button.

Yeah, that'll work fine. The gain on the amp will make up for the divided signal, just set them correctly.
