Just burned a CD with Apple's Lossless format on to a gen 5 i-Pod.Then used the Alpine USB digital connection to the head unit and it's 24 bit Burr Brown DAC. Yes Hamfist your prediction over the phone was correct. This is without question the best sounding music I've ever heard out of an i-Pod and it is way better sounding then the Alpine high speed cord on the same head unit in a direct A/B comparison. Come and gettim'.

Oh jeez, I will be right down. Unfortunately the shop I work for is not an Alpine dealer. Alpine is very specific about who is a dealer and the territory deal.

Well this seems to be the current evolutionionary change in media. I am all for a change. Sure will be interesting when CD's become obsolete.

Lemme know when yer gonna go, Dan, and I'll arrange to do the same! I got a stack of amps I need to pick up over there! :) I'll be sending you some cash, soon Bob!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
