I am buying a pair of Infinity reference 6.5" speakers at my local car audio shop. I am not sure what model number they are but they said they are this years models. The thing is the ones that they have on there display board don't have that treble button on the tweeter like the ones at Best Buy do. Are they trying to give me last years models or are there some with the button and some without it?

Perhaps you are referring to tweeter attenuation. The crossovers they are offering may have a jumper wire within the crossover itself, not visible with out removing the cover. Or, on the terminals there may be open ones for different settings.

So do you think they are giving me this years model then? I could see the button on the ones at Best Buy. On these ones I don't see the button on the tweeter.

I think I mis-read your post. The button is on the tweeter? I have no idea now.

There is a button on the tweeter on the newest Infinity speakers that does exactly what he says. I work at Best Buy and sell them.

So they are probably trying to give me last years models right? They probably figured I would not even notice. The 6x9's they are selling me have the button on the tweeter. I don't understand why they would have the new 6x9's and not the 6.5". I guess it don't matter but this years line are 2ohm. So I will have a set of 4ohm in the front and a set of 2ohm in the rear. Will that sound unbalanced because the rear will get more power because of lower ohm load?

yes the rears will sound alittle bit louder. your deck might also overheat due to the lower resistance in the speakers.

git yer swerve on!
