tweeters

I wanted to get some opinions on some good quality and very reliable tweeters. In my car, I run all my speakers off of amps. I run 4 tweeters off a 400 watt 4 channel amp. I have them in 4 ohm and have the gains set to around 1/4 maybe alittle more. I am using Power Acoustik's NB-1's and they sound and are pretty reliable. I have had them for over 2 years and have only replaced 1. Anyways, I want opinions on tweeters that can handle being powered by amps.

That is going to depend COMPLETELY on the installation capabilities and the proper tuning processes involved when installing them. You can use ANY speaker (literally) on ANY amplifier (literally). I used 10 watt Infinity ribbon tweeters on 160 watt Nakamichi monoblocks for years, and never blew one. I am presently using 60 watt JL silk domes (the VR series) on (what WAS 125 watts - the amps are now sold) Eclipse amps, and I am now trading up to Alpine 150 watt PDX amplifiers. I won't have any problems at all. If you're worried about outlay of cash, go to Radio Shack, and buy the cheapest POS they have, and blow 'em up at will... Just replace them for next to nothing when you do... It all depends on matching the output of the amplifier with the power needs and capacities on the driver attached to it. Do it right from the get-go, and you wont have any problems. Any driver will last forever, attached to ANY amplifier. I do mean that literally, I am not just making stuff up as I go along here. Oh, and I am curious to know your definition of "amplifier". I am assuming you are referring to the big aluminum blocks that you mount in the trunk of your car, but did you know that your deck has an amplifier in it as well? ANYTHING you can hook a speaker to, and drive the speaker with any listenable output is a high-level amplifier.It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I dont like running anything off my headunit's amp. I have 3 pairs of RCA outputs that I use. That way I can max out my volume without messing anything up on the head.
