Hey guys I just finished restoring a 1968 Pontiac gto and was wondering what sound system I should put in it. It wasn't restored to original.
I'm looking for cheap things but with decent quality. Perhaps old model speakers with old model CD/MP3 Player. I don't want to worry about the cost if it is ever stollen from the car. It needs to stand excessive heat because my car has no A/C and is painted black. I also have a power acoustik 980 2 channel amp and 12" kappa perfect 12.1 laying around from my 2001 ram I sold. Should I sell these? I figure they can't take the heat in the gto and I don't want to worry about the amp being stollen.

My brother actually had one of these cars and it was the first car I ever put a system into. If you don't care about a stock look a simple underdash kit will work.If you want to keep a stock look go look at Custom Autosounds stuff. Rear cutouts are 6X9s and you can build two 31/2 coaxs in the front stock dash location.I would keep the amp and sub.Although the 6X9s will get REALLY good bass, the sub will definately help. Put the amp in the trunk and it should fine.
There is no such thing as free installation!
