I see lots of references to not running power next to signal input. Is this the same for the output, ie, output of the amplifier?

if so, what is the general rule of thumb for distance between the two?

Don't worry about it. There is no rule of thumb, ESPECIALLY with speaker leads. There isn't any way for ANY power cable in a car, with only 12V on it to generate anywhere CLOSE to enough magnetic field to cause noise on a speaker lead.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

ok, I wasn't too sure about that.

I am putting everything back in the car and wanted to make sure that no more RCAs are close to the power and also wanted to verify that the power wire was not going to affect the output even though I am using 2 x 1 gauge for power to the battery.
