these mono blocks dont come with any onboard fusing but do come with a 200amp ANL fuse & fuseholder! is a fuse this big really neccessary for only 1 amp? i am running 2 of those plus 3 other amps that total out to over a 600 amp pull on the alternator. with a 40 farad cap in place is it necc. to uprade the alternator?

If the amp came with a 200 amp fuse, then that is its "onboard" fusing.  Use it as directed.  Do you need to count this as a 200 ampere pull on the alternator?  Only if you are using the amp at its extreme limits.  And if you are, you will need to upgrade the OEM alternator.

The cap can only be of benefit if the power demand is met by the power supplyThe power supply is the alternator.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
