I had a Hifonics Brutus 500xd running my subs at 1 ohm and a phoenix gold 2 channel amp running my back speakers.  One day my subs went out and the amp started to smoke but i didn't know why.  my amp powered up and my 2 channel still worked too.  I took my amp apart and saw that there where a couple of transistors fried.  a couple of days later my 2 channel stopped working but made a thump repeating pattern in my back speakers.  I looked at it and the power light would go on and then off repeating.  i want to know if anyone has any idea why both my amps would go bad and if my 2 channel can be fixed easily.

1. I'd say check your voltage. A low voltage condition will make the amps want to pull more current...
2. Not likely. I mean, YOU couldn't do it easily, but a repair facility could handle it.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Your Pheonix Gold amplifier has one or more shorted output transistors.  It needs to be repaired.  It being a Pheonix Gold amp, Haem is right it will not be an easy repair for you to do.
