Hi all!  I'm brand new here and was wondering if anyone has experience with this amp?  I know there are a lot of Rockford haters out there, but I'm looking for a reliable brand to supply decent power to 2 SVC 10" TC-1000 subs.  I'll be running a Punch 450.4 (already purchased) for my high end and am looking for a good, reasonably-priced companion for my low end.  Going for SQ more than SPL, and it's all going in an '03 Mustang.  Will the 600.1 be adequate and is it a decent purchase?  Thanx...

i have heard alot of bad things about the Rockford line. but have never witnessed or been subjected to any of it. so i would say if you havent had any problems out f the 450.4 try out the 600.1, its only money right?

The 600.1 got rave reviews from Car Audio & Electronics.  I say go for it.

Thanks for your response.  I haven't installed the 450.4 yet, so I don't know.  My experience with RF goes back to 1992 when I was running a modest set-up off a Punch 45 for highs and a Punch 75 bridged to mono to power 1 12" sub.  I never had a problem then, but now I hear all kinds of banter about how quality has slipped, RF sucks, yada yada yada.  But like you, it seems like it's always 2nd hand anecdotes I hear and never anything specific.  I can't imagine their quality being so bad that the amp is going to blow and I haven't heard that their power is overrated or anything, so...  Anybody out there know what the difference is across their line (the Punch series VS their Power lines)?

I'm checking that review as we speak.  As for the second part of my post, I guess I'm still confused about power output/resistance/wiring.  I know if I wire the 2 subs in parallel the amp will see 2 Ohms resistance and produce 600W of power, but in terms of output is it like 300W to each speaker or is it like 600W pushing one?

300 per woofer, which won't be enough. I know that's close to the rated power for those woofers, but they'll be WAY happier with more power.
I am personally using an Alpine PDX1.1000 (birth certificate sez 1176W RMS) on a pair of them in my Civic, and that's just about right. I too, built SPECIFICALLY for SQ, and I can tell you for sure, you'll probably end up wanting more...

And after you spend the extra money now, it will still not be over.
