melting fuse

I recently noticed that my fuse on my Amp is melting. I thought maybe I had a bad connection somewhere. I was using a bad ground. I switched to a better ground and figured that would solve the problem but it is still happening. It does not trip the fuse. It just melts the plastic part of the fuse. Do I just need a new amp? I cannot figure out what to do to get it to stop. I am using the correct size fuze. I have been using the same setup for a couple of years and this just started happening.I run 2 Jensen 12" subs in a bandpass box. With a 360 watt DUAL Amplifier and a Jensen9312 DVD Multimedia receiver. Equipment is in a 2002 Dodge Stratus. Thank you for any responses.Mikey

The bad connection is at the fuse holder itself.   If the fuses are loose you will need to use an awl or a metal pick tool to bend the metal pieces inside the fuse holder, so it will hold the fuse tight.

and be sure to DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY before you start picking around at your fuse holders trying to bend them back into shape!!  If the fuse casing is melting it is getting really hot, and it may be more than a bad fuse holder.  Dual is a disposable brand and if they are 2-years old, it might just be time for them to go home to the great cheapasz amplifier store in the sky...Support the12volt.com

Thank you guys for the help. You are right about the off brand. I think this amp was about $40.00. I will try to fix the fuse holder and if that does not help the problem than I will just invest in another amp. And sorry about the double post.      Mikey
