hey guys when removing a head unit from my 2000GT mustang i accidntly touched the constant power and ground wirres together! now I cannot get power to my harness i checked all fuses even underhood with a test light 7of them did not light!! i tried replacing all of them and it still didnt work

what do i do when its not a fuse???

please help me

I'd still be willing to bet that there is a blown fuse. Give it another go. Make sure the key is in the accessory posistion.

Check them again. Not poking fun at you. I have done this more than once. Double and triple check. If that dose not work and you do not get a respond from some one ells here that knows what’s up(and you might), go to www.alldata.com and purchase the information for your vehicle for 20 bucks. You will be able to trace that circuit all the way back to the battery using the diagrams and schematics that they provide. They even give you physical locations of every connector (with pin out) and every harness in your car.

what does pin out mean and is the accessory switch all the way back or in the run position???

When you said 7 fuses did not light, did one side light but not the other? Or were both sides out?

Accessory is the posistion where every function (radio, HVAC, etc) works, while the motor is off. Some fuses like buss or blade fuses can actually be blown but still light up a test light light.

i only checked one side i think??? but the same ones that were supposedly dead i replaced so what do you think i should do? visually inspect and replace all of them or what??.

You need to check both sides of the fuse to determine if it is blown.

im gonna go check now but if one side doesnt light up thats okay??

If one side lights up and the other side does not, that fuse is blown.
