avic d1 wiring -- posted image.

ok so i made my own harness for my avic, everything is working fine but i am at a loss of what that one extra pin with the ?? is.  My research makes me beleive it is just another ground pin, but i'm not sure.  The unit is working without it connected.  (never hooked it up to speakers yet, but i assume that will work if everything else is good to go)   BTW please don't flame me and say just buy the real harness because i bought this open box at CC for 180 and i don't think the $60 harness is worth it for a molex and some wires when i can just make my own molex from other harnesses.  thanks

Yes the Nav will work w/o the speed sense wire tapped, but your vehicle icon on the nav map will not always be where it should be in conjunction  to where you actually are. It lags so to speak.

What vehicle do have that doesn't have the vss wire?

Go ask the "help" at Circuit City.
There is no such thing as free installation!

Watch the attitude buster.

I said it in a nice way.  I even said please don't tell me to just buy the harness in my first post.  I have my reasons and all i am asking for is some simple electrical help from expierenced installers
