After my tv was stolen i opted for a new cd player. I hooked up the head unit and it worked fine. I hooked the subs and amp back up with the power cap and both the amp and power cap had no power. I checked everything, all the wires were hooked up and the fuse was fine. Then i was messing with the remote to make sure it wasnt the problem. I hooked it up to the ignition wire and when i touched the amp it sparked, I looked at the head unit and it had turned off. So i thought i fried that but the fuse is not blown on the back, there are no fuses blown at all under the hood or the steering wheel. I then put the factory cd player in and it does not turn on either but the stock one still eject cds. And all other interior lights work. What did i do and how do i fix it?
i am an idiot

What kind of vehicle are we talking about?   Sounds like you blew the fuse for the switched wire.
