With all the repeat questions about stereo gear there should be a guide on what works well. Based on Cost, performance, and reliability.

I know there are enought shop owners who have fist hand knowleadge on this type of stuff and personal experence with product return. Lets face it there are a lot of young people who don't have the money to get the best products and need that cheaper equipment but still want a good returne on what they have spent there hard earned money. There is a lot of good tech already on how to do this or that and lots of people here wiling to help. But these same questions keep comming up, is brand x any good? Na dude it's swap meet crap!

So is there any real chance to get something like this together?

That is a good idea but with brands 'not being what they used to be' and others getting better over time as well as different buying-out of companies combined with the fact that there are numerous companies and those companies have more than one line or gear.... it'd take years to compile something like this.

Simply saying 'CompVR is one of the best deals on SPL' or 'for the money, Alpine PDX amps deliver the greatest sound reproduction' would take really long, because of my first para... er, sentence.

If this is done, I think the complete best bang for the buck equipment should be included absolute first. You know, the reason the list would be compiled in the first place.

It's simply too subjective. No such list would work for everyone.

I here what you saying things are aways subjective I know that I don't post to a lot of things cause they are always the same type of question because people are to lazy to use the search function or look anything up for them selfs. I will do some of there leg work if I am board or just feel like being nice. As a lot of people do here I for one always try to search out a question before I ask it. It was just a thought.
