I bought a power antenna from optionracing.com, it did not come with any wiring diagrams, and am having trouble finishing the install, this is what I have;

one Green wire not sure what it is fore maybe the remote to controll the up/down by connection to the HU Power Antenna led ???

One red lable 12v + , I assume this is the constant Hot led to battery
one black cable as long as the green and red, not labled I take this as my common
and oone short black cable with a copper washer style connector ( ground?)

I can make the antenna go up and down with the black (common) and red (Hot) but it always has power running though it, which I would bet will burn that motor real fast.

So my question is what is this green wire and am I making the right assumptions?

I'm installing this into a '95 Mitusubishi Eclipse, with Factory HU, and no previous Power antenna

from what i can understand you have a power and a ground so all you are missing is the turn on. from the sounds of it the green wire would be the turn on. Since you are using a factory HU which never had a power antenna then you will need to splice into an accessory source somewhere(ignition harness or possibly fuse box?) ONce you find the acc then hopefully the antenna will go up when you turn on the car and then go down when you turn off the car.
as far as your assumptions they seem right.. the red is 12v since it is labeled and then the black with the washer is the ground for the motor and I would assume that the other black is another ground. the green i am only guessing is the turn on though.
