Hi I have two pioneer tsw307d4 subs they are 1200 watts max and 400 rms Heres the link to them http://www.sonicelectrnix.com/item_8334_Pioneer+TS-W307D4.html

I am trying to decide which amp to buy between a Legacy LA2259 4000 watt 2 channel car amplifier or pyramid PB1836GX 2400 watt 2 channel amp

Here is the link for the legacy http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/LA2259/detail.asp

and the link for the http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/PB1836GX/detail.asp

So can someone tell me which would be a better buy or deal

Thank you

Those amps are absolute piles of junk, good thing you asked before buying! You will be needing a mono amp that will do around or under 800 RMS at 1 or 4 ohm, I can recommend a Cadence TXA-1000D bought directly from Cadence at this link http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=380
for $199, it puts out a true 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm, it will be more than enough so you will need to understand how to properly set your gain on the amp, but at least you will have more power on tap for in the future for when you upgrade...and you will upgrade, trust me, audio is a drug.

Niether. Both choices wouldn't last too long.

I'd save up and buy a better known amp brand (better known for performance rather than huge, unobtainable numbers i.e. "4000 or 2400").

For 2 dual 4ohm subs, your 2 wiring options are; https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42

So, you can either get a mono (1 channel) amp that is 1ohm stable and use wiring option #1 (1ohm final load) OR a 2 channel and wire them like in option #2 (4ohm load to amp). Make sure the amp you get is CEA-compliant, this ensure that it'll put out what it claims.

*EDIT: for the 1ohm stable mono amp, you'll look for about 500-800Wrms @ 1ohm. For the 2channel, about 500-800Wrms x1 @ 4ohm.

One ninety-nine?  I'm buying one.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Yup, apparently to Jason Paul a rep over there at Cadence, it's a never ending sale, but im willing to bet it's a sale till there gone.
