Hey guys,
I have a set of pioneer 3 ways in the front of my car but the high end sounds just gets lost when it hits your leg. So im looking to possibly buy a set of tweeters and mount them higher up the door.
I have a few problems though that im trying to find the answers to,
1.I don't know what type of tweeter to get (if theres any special sort)
2.I'm not sure how to wire them.
3.Will i give it to much/not enough power
4.How to apply a x-over to them or to use the 3-ways x-over.
atm i have a 4 channel amp (300w max a channel)powering 4 3-way speakers(4ohm) the amp is 2ohm stable, its basically a generic brand amp so im gonna assume those figures are overly false advertising then normal
If you need anymore info to answer the 4 questions i have, please let me no and i'll try get it for you.
Thanks,
Chris

Your best bet is to replace the Pioneer 3-ways with decent component splits.  Keep the tweeter in close proximity to the mid driver.  You can experiment with angling the direction of the tweeter, especially if you choose a set that includes an angled mount that can be rotated.

You can't fix this problem by adding more tweeters.  You will only add more problerms into the mix if you do so.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

i was thinking of replacing them with components, maybe when i have spare money/time
so if i try angling the 3-ways to send the sound up instead of out, i should be able to eliminate some of the problem?
