I'm planning a build on this car and was wondering if anybody had any info. The car has the factory Harmon Karden system with the in dash double DIN combo stereo/nav. Was thinking JL Cleansweep, amps, speakers and sub. Was wondering about speaker sizes, crossovers (factory) and electronic equalization. Thanks.

Damn, Bob... Can't you ask about a REGULAR car once in a while? 2006 mercedes benz cls 500 info. -- posted image.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

But Dave, I know most of the "regular" cars. LOL. This one belongs to a major league baseball player. Oh God I think I'm having a Will Castro moment!

The other shop nearby, who is an Alpine dealer, used that Alpine hub thing. They changed all the speakers, added amps.

Bob, if it has the H-K system then it has a full Logic 7 surround sound processor going.  For example, the rear deck speakers are the channel 6 and 7 surround speaks.  I backed off from a helping friend who has that car (actually the 2007 CLS550) except for helping him upgrade the drivers in front (installed 6.5" comps, minor mods required.)  He wanted to change out the HU but keep the surround function, which is of course impossible.  Plus I believe some of the massive amount of computing power in that car is tied through the HU too...

Thanks David that's what I was afraid of. Will call JL tech support Monday and see if it is possible. Might just do the front drivers and the sub.
