Building a ported box for my solobaric S12L5 (kicker). Designing a box that will have an external port (hidden under the false floor). Problem is, I need to have the port turn a corner or two.
First off, I have read about this in the past, always avoided it because it complicates things, but now that I need to do it, I can't find the posts or the websites talking about it.
Secondly, are there any drawbacks to bending a port?

Calculate your required port length normally, then just construct your bent port so that the total length through the middle of the bend is what the straight length should be.  As long as the interior area of the port remains constant (or nearly so) along the entire length, it doesn't really matter how many bends are in a subwoofer port.
