clarion dxz835mp eject problem

Hi,

My Clarion DXZ835MP has recently stopped ejecting CD's.  It just makes a series of rapid clicking sounds when "eject" is pushed.  For a while I could "help" it out of the slot by gently pushing up from underneath using another CD or similarly slim object, but even that does not work anymore.  I am not in the market for a new head unit right now & I still love my Clarion, so I am looking for any repair answers that I can get.  I understand that this may be a common problem with this unit so I hope it is not too difficult to remedy.  Thank you for any suggestions!

Noone has replied b/c obviously the eject mechanism is bad.

I think it's going to need to be repaired either way. You might as well take it to a electronics repair shop and have them give you a quote. If the repair cost is about the same as a new unit, you know what to do (decide...).

Drop it off at a repair shop and then go looking around for a new unit. This way it'll be easier to decide should you get bad news (too much $$$ to fix it).

thanks for the advice... I knew that something in the eject mech was bad but wondered if it was something that a hobbyist could do.  But like you, I think it's probably better left to the pros... :-)  Thanks for getting back...
