Just bought this truck and found out the power antenna doesn't work.  It's my wife's DD and I'd really like to get the stock radio working properly for her.  I'm exploring the possibility of an aftermarket CD player, but that will be later on.

There is no sound from the pwr antenna when the ignition and HU are turned on.  I even went as far as to run a wire from the battery directly the pwr antenna terninal on the stock stereo wiring harness and still got nothing.

What I'd like to find out is what type of job it will be to get the power antenna motor replaced - or possibly just put in a standard antenna.  I can't even tell for sure if it's accessed from the engine compartment or the passenger compartment.  If it's from the pass side it looks like the heater box has to come out at a minimum, probably a ton of other stuff.

Any help?

the antenna will concist of 3 wires. Negative, Postive, and a negative trigger wire. The negative trigger wires tells the antenna to go up or close. try touching the wire from the antenna in the back (test with DMM) and see which is pos, neg and trigger. if u locate trigger, touch it to ground and see if it moves.

NEGATIVE trigger wire?

I thought remote antenna leads were always 12v+ (just like an amp turn on).
