I have the Valet 561R on my 01 Dodge Diesel.  All functions work great.  However, I have never been able to use the remote farther than 100-150 feet away and it's iffy then.  I have put new batteries in the remote twice.  The antenna is mounted to the inside of the windshield on the driver side, up high.  Also, I have to go outside to get it to receive.  Won't work from inside a building.

Any ideas?

They mounted it right up against the metal of the A pillar.

If it was another shop that did it, did you take it back to them to have them check it out. If not check the ground and make sure the antenna is not

balled up.

The ground is great. But, they do have the extra antenna wire in a tightly wound nest.

Heres how I usually runt the antenna. I start at the brain under the dash and then run it up to the center of the windshield. then what ever extra slack i have i run back and fourth between the a pillar and antenna. Usually have enough to do on full back and fourth. I'm pretty sure that those antenna wires are not supposed to balled up and can affect the range.

if u had a shop do it, they should have lifetime warrenty on the install. just tell them u have bad range, and its always been like that. they should check ur ground again and then swap ur antenna if anything.

This is where your problem is. As others have already stated, undo the rolled up wire, and extend the wire out as straight as possible, preferably in the headliner.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

THANKS!  I plan on moving the antenna to the rear window (Quad Cab) and running the wire how ever I need to to avoid it touching itself.
