I have installed car audio/video in the past for about 5 years and have not done it in about 6 years now. I have a 200 dodge dakota with keyless entry and i just bought a 2003 dodge ram for my wife that does not have keyless entry I really want to try to keep it as simple as i can. what i want to know is will the receiver for the keyless entry work from the dakota work on the ram. the dealer told me that i would have to buy the $240 alarm but i know that is BS....if any one could please help me and let me know what i should be looking for uinder thae dash of the dakota for the module and under the ram for where it should go if it will work....

try this site it is $82.80 plus shipping . as far as the install it connects to the back of the instrument cluster. only thing is you need the dealer to code the remotes and program your bcm to see the keyless module. or you could go aftermarket and do the install yourself. do you still have acess to product?? if not contact me if you are interested.my site is listed at the bottom.

Hey thanks for the link. I was trying to get the cheap way out and use the module from the dakota instead of buying a new one. But if I have to I will buy a new one. What will the dealer have to do to program it, is it just programming the key fobs or what?

You could by an aftermarket keyless entry for under $40. Could be as simple as hooking up to three wires in the truck. A couple more wires if you want ignition locks, light flash and horn honk. I can't see a Dodge dealer charging less than an hour labor ($60+) for programming.
