I've seen this subject covered in a few other posts...but none of them seemed to be brought to completion, as far as me feeling like I'd know exactly how to proceed....

So I wanted to bring it up one (hopefully) final time: The best way to incorporate a horn honk on lock/unlock into an aftermarket Micro keyless with no horn output.  Hard to tell if it locked a lot of times, and it'd be nice to have a clear audible indication. I've heard of using the lock/unlock wires. I was just gonna use the light flash wiring...or whichever would be better. I understand the horn wire is "-" and the light wires are "+", so the polarity can be changed with a relay. How are diodes used in this setup?

Or, if the lock/unlock wires are used instead, how is this done? Like, start to finish? Thanks

What kind of vehicle is it? One quick thought is to tap a wire from your lock wire on remote start/keyless to the horn wire on vehicle and use a diode inline if polarity is the same.  If you have to invert polarity, you'll need to build a relay.

Your units lock output is probly only 200-500ma so Unless you wanna frie your outputs i wouldnt recommend tapping the lock wire directly to both horn and lock but it can be done with  1 or 2 relay(s) (depending on lock polarity) for lock (and 1 or 2 for Unlock if wanted. relay would be the same as lock but with unlock wire) so lock is (-)Ground relay would be 86-(-) lock from unit 85-fused +12v(10A should be sufficient) 87-(-) ground 30 two wires diode on each with cathode (side with stripe)  towards relay 1 wire lock 1 wire horn......... if lock is (+)positive you have to use two relays so 86-(+) lock  85-ground(-) 87-Fused +12v(10A should be good) 30-two wires diode on each with cathode (side with stripe) away from relay 1 to lock 1 to pin 86 of relay 2 and relay 2 will be 86-30 from relay 1 85+87-(-) ground 30-Horn (-) or you can use the 2 relay setup with the light flash and horn will honk once with lock and twice with unlock (better than using individual lock/unlock as you will use alot less relays and only have 1 honk per lock/unlock unless you have dual pulse unlock) so incase i have confused you (as i have myself... not hard) Your best route is relay 86-(+)parking light output  85-(-) ground 87-fused +12v(15A as PL are 15A) 30-two wires diode on each with cathode (side with stripe) away from relay 1 to parking lights 1 to 86 of relay 2 relay 2 will be 86-30 of relay 1 85+87-(-) ground 30-horn(-) Diodes arent "necassary" but always add protection  Happy wiring

thought more and your Parking light output can just hook directly up to your parking lights with a wire tapped in to trigger a relay as follows 86-wire taped to PL output  85+87-(-)ground 30-(-)horn

Appreciate it fellas...that's the kind of play by play I was after. BTW, it's a 92 Mazda MX-3.

Now I'm gonna look around for info on how I'd use the aux channel on the keyless to pop the hatch :)...if I can't find what I need, guess I'll start a new post about that

You don't want to use the parking light output of most units, WAY too long of a pulse.  It won't be a quick honk, it will be a HOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKK.
