I'm having a problem getting remote start to work on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Tach learning doesn't seem to work. the LED never comes on like the instructions say.
When I remote start, engine hits the starter briefly, but not long enough to start. When I have the key in RUN position and remote start, the engine starts, and the starter keeps cranking for a few seconds after it is started, then the starter tries 2 more times to start even though engine is running...as if it doesn't know the engine is started.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Where did you get your tach wire in the vehicle? On Fords I always use an injector wire. Take a look at the fuel injectors, each will have a common colored wire and an odd colored wire. Tap your tach connection into one of the odd colored wires and try to reprogram the unit.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

I used the tan/yel behind the dash at first, then tried a tan/stripe at the coil pack, same results. I will try an injector, thanks a lot

Hi, everyone
I've installed the 5900 system but my remote start feature does not work. All other features work. What are some reasons y my unit is not responding to the remote start command?
Sure Nuff
