Installing an Ultrastart remote start on my 01 Frontier. Ive done this before, it came out of my (now wrecked) 98 Frontier, and on the 01 Im having the same issue I had on the 98: locating the horn wire.
All of the wiring sheets I can find say "light GREEN/ red or brown at steering column". Problem is I cant for the life of me actually find these wires at the column. I found a GREEN/ red, and a BROWN / white, but not the ones listed on the sheet.
I dont *have* to have the horn setup work (on the 98 I just added a chirp siren), but I figured it would be nice.
Any suggestions? I think my last resort will be to tap the wire at the relay, which is all the way in the engine compartment.......just wanted to avoid the extra work if possible (Im not lazy.....call it efficient :) ).
Thanks.

There is definitely a wire there. It will go to ground when you press the horn button on the steering wheel. Test the wires with your meter, you will find it.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
