I'm having a little trouble with the install of a APS57 in my 1991 Saab 900.
Tach signal learning issues: I tried the tach signal wire off the neg side of the coil (one coil for all 4 plugs) and had no luck with the programming step to learn the tach signal. Then I located the tach wire in the main fuse panel diagnostic plug and tried it in the learning mode.    When I go into learn mode (ign on, press button three times, ign off, hold button, start car, wait for parking lights to flash) the unit will start locking and unlocking the doors every 10 seconds.
Now when I try the progamming mode, I don't even get a flash on the programming button when it's pressed.
Lock/unlock function issues: The lock/unlock function works oddly. If I lock the doors it will lock then immediately unlock. After trying it again, it will perform as commanded. Then if I wait and try it again later, it will follow the command and then immediately reverse itself once. Then subsequently it will work as commanded.
Parking light wiring issues: I ran the parking light signal wire off pin 58 behind the headlight switch. According to my wiring diagrams it should only control the parking lights, but the headlights flash as well.
1991 Saab 900s
Thanks,
Kevin

So, does anyone have any ideas of why the locks will pop every 10 seconds while the car is running?

Hmm.
Often times when units behave weirdly like that, the ground is sometimes bad.
I would take a moment to test EVERY wire that goes into the APS57, to verify that all of them are what they're supposed to be.......ground, constant, ignition, brake, etcetera, all of them. Just takes a minute, touching your test light/meter to the plugs as they enter the brain.
As for the locks, at worst, you could always program the unit for double pulse lock.
What happens if you unplug the lock harness, with the red and green wires......and just apply a straight ground from the car's body (with a jumper wire) to the red lock wire that you unplugged? That'll tell you if it's an issue with the remote starter, or an issue with the car itself.
I'm not sure about the parking lights, but the best place to start would be to test all of the other wires at the headlight switch, and try out any other parking light wires you find..........there might be separate left and right wires.

Thanks, I'm going to start tracking it down.
Also, I originally hooked up the tach sensor wire to the side of the coil that had a black wire coming out and going to ground. Now I took a closer look at the coil and that side has a + and the other side has a -. So, did I do any damage?

Tach: I had a similar problem with a 1990 900. I tagged the same tach wire, and it would not learn the tach signal... same with using an injector wire. I ended up using voltage and it has worked fine.
Locks: did you try locking it with the doors closed? On some vehicles if you try locking with the doors (mainly driver side door) it will automatically unlock. This is a factory setting that is a safety for not letting the owner lock their keys in the car.
Lights: In the one I did, I was able to find the parking light wire behind the fusebox. It doesnt appear to be the same color on yours, but you should be able to find the light wire as either GREEN/ red or blue at either the switch or the factory alarm located under the passanger seat. In the car I did, I believe it was gray at the back of the fusebox which was in the driver side dash panel... it was to the left side of the back of the fusebox.

The tach wire on the remote start only reads an input, and it doesn't produce any output, so in that case, connecting to the wrong place won't damage anything.
But, I hope that you're testing all of these wires, and not just relying on diagrams.
