aux output for output? not trunk

i have a viper 650xv in my daily driver (1995 ford escort lx hatch)...it's an alarm/keyless

tonight i wired up a relay so i could honk my horns using channel 3 output (WHITE/ blue stripe wire) (lock/unlock buttons at same time), they honk for as long as i hold the buttons, then stop once i release...

i also wanted to do my headlights on the channel 2 output (RED / white stripe wire)...

i realized what i want to accomplish in the end, i think i did backwards so i will have to re-do it tomorrow..

what i wanted to do is 1)be able to honk my horns for as long as i hold AUX button and they stop once i release

2)turn on my headlights once i press Lock/Unlock button, they stay on until i press Lock/Unlock again

then i realized that AUX is only meant to send a 3-5 second pulse (normally used for trunk release)...can i still do this for my horn?

i already have a relay and fused my headlights b/c they are hooked up to my parking light output from the alarm brain.

i know how to program the channel 3 output so i can turn the headlights on/off with the lock/unlock buttons at same time....my only concern was the channel 2 aux output if that is possible. i know i'll need another relay to reverse the polarity since the RED / white is a (-) negative trigger and my horn is (+) positive trigger

if you are wondering why i want to do this, because the area i live in is not that great and i want to be able to turn my headlights on at night so i can view the area around my car to make sure no one is messing with the car.

Your channel 2(aux) output should operate the entire time the button is pushed...there is a delay from when you push the button to when it starts its output; but DEI's alarms will maintain the output until you release the transmitter IIRC.C Renner's Auto Electronix

Take a look at the programming menu, and see what your options are. If I'm not mistaken, Channel 2 can only be set up a couple of different ways, but Channel 3 has a lot more flexibility. You might have to switch the two accessories around the other way, to get what you want, but that wouldn't be very hard. So, I'd put the horns on the RED / white Channel 2........the horn will blow as long as you hold the AUX button. Put the lights on Channel 3, and program the output for "latched." That'll make the lights come on once when you press the button(s), and the lights will go out when you press again. You might consider "latched, reset with ignition." The buttons would turn the lights on and off in the same way......but even if you turn the lights on with the remote, they would turn out as soon as you turn the car's ignition on, so you won't drive around with the lights on. Also, be very careful about not hitting the buttons by accident, leaving the lights on and draining the battery. I think there's a 30-second option you could choose, which would prevent that.
