I recently tried installing a RS in a 2006 Grand Cherokee and I'm having issues with it. After installing the RS, I tried it out with the key in the ignition to see if was working before I added the bypass. It would start up then shut down 3 times. If I tried starting it with the key after that it would give me a check engine light. I am also having this same problem with a 2006 Dodge Charger. What am I doing wrong?

Sound like an ignition harness problem, specifically the MUX wire. This is the PURPLE / brown I believe. The wire is the (-) second starter and (-) accy wire, through resistors (or bypass mod). What have you done for this wire?

Use a bypass module that supplies the correct resistance to the MUX wire ( PURPLE / BROWN ). I use these all the time. iDatalink or Fortin are the ones that I suggest using.

I think I know what I did wrong. By not hooking up the bypass, the 2nd starter wire and acc are not being triggered. Am I right or not?

hooked up everything, programmed it, and tested it. Now I'm getting a "Emeregency braking system" light.

The only thing that triggers the hand brake light is the hand brake. Does the light get brighter when you engage the hand brake ?
