Hi,
I plan to install a NIB python 990 on a 91 Nissan 300zx. This car needs a driver's door actuator to work the lock.
I've wired the python through a DEI 451m relay to a 524n actuator. Nothing else is connected at this point except for the antenna and power/ground.
Here is the problem. When I use the remote to lock/unlock, the actuator fires just fine in both directions. However, the alarm is not switching between armed and unarmed. The remote simply beeps 6 times (3 series of 2 beeps).
When the relay is unplugged, the alarm has no problems arming and disarming. I've tested it with the shock sensor, siren, everything seems to be fine.
I am stumped as to why the relay/actuator are giving the alarm problems. The alarm should simply be sending lock/unlock pulses but it seems to be looking for some sort of feedback.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

3 series of 2 beeps means that that remote is not receiving back a signal from the brain (ie it is only working 1way, not 2way). Do you have the door pins connected? Most alarms will bypass the door trigger if no door input is connected. Did you plug in the ribbon cable from the 451m into the door lock port, or did you hardwire it? Also, where did you ground both the 451m WHITE/ black and BROWN / black wires, as well as the main unit's ground? Did you ground them seperately or all together?

Thanks Kenny, it sounds like I need to wire the door pin. I don't have it connected.
Everything is grounded together. The 3 wire ribbon out of the 451m is plugged into the 990 - the others are connected to power, ground + actuator. The actuator is firing properly so I am relatively sure I have that part wired correctly.

Ok, I feel like an idiot. The bench power supply I was using to test everything was not supplying enough amps. It looks like at the time the actuators were being throw, it was starving the alarm.
When I wired everything to a battery, no problems at all.
