disabling rattler 300

Hello. Would someone please tell me how to disable the Rattler 300, in order to render it completely disabled and it will not alarm. My problem is I seem to be having an electrical issue somewhere in my system and it is draining my battery. What I want to do is to remove the battery cables from the battery, when I am home, so there is no electrical power to my car. And then put the battery cables back on when I am ready to go. The only problem in doing this is each time I attempt to remove the battery cables or attempt to put them on, of course the alarm will sound, as it should. I have the manual for the Rattler 300. But, unfortunately, I cannot find any information on disabling it completely and enabiling it when I have found and solved my electrical problem. THANKS!

Forgot to put in my first message about the location of the 520T Backup Battery. If I knew where the Backup Battery was located, I am thinking I could disconnect it and by doing so it would solve my problem. Would someone tell me where it is and how to disconnect it, if it is advisable to do so. THANKS!

Oh well. In such a hurry forgot to mention something else. How about disabling the shock sensor. This is what happened and when my troubles started: a neighbor backed her car into the front of my car. It was a pretty good smack, but the alarm for the Shock Sensor didn't activate. The next thing I knew was my battery had been drained a few hours later. I am thinking when this person hit my car, she has caused the Shock Sensor to somehow become defective, where it should have activated the alarm but didn't. And since it didn't activate the alarm, some electrical abnormality has taken place. As I said in my initial post, this is why I am trying to disable the entire Rattler 300 system from any electrical power from the car battery or from the 520T Battery Backup, which I mentioned in my second post. Well, I think this is all this time. If you have had a battery continuously drain on you, then you know how frustrating that can be, until you are able to get with someone who knows what they are doing in order to check out the electrical system. I do know the alternator is good. I took that off and had it checked. Belts and everything else look to be ok. THANKS!

Thanks for responding. You say unplug the brain; everything. OK. Where is the brain? I took off the lower portion of the dashboard, under the steering column. I can see the Valet/Program plunger button for the alarm system. I can see the fuse box. Is the brain in this area and what does it look like? I don't see anything to unplug. Would you elaborate? THANKS!

well usually the alarm will sit around the steering collumn up high in the dash. The brain looks like a black box with a wack load of wires comming out from it. From the steeing collumn, follow your wires from the valet switch back to the alarm unit. The fuse usually sits in line with a RED wire. pull the fuse or Cut the pwer and tape up the ends properly.
