hi...i have an 03 rav4 that i wish to have a keyless remote installed in it.

i went to the dealership but was disappointed because they said that my rav4 doesn't have the power supply for the keyless remote. does my rav4 need a separate power supply for the keyless remote? can't they just tap power from the battery?

thanks...

Go to any car audio location (your favorite) and ask how much to do keyless entry. This job is no big deal. The dealership wanted to do "factory" keyless.

I don't know what they mean by "power supply."
Maybe like KarTuneMan said, they wanted to program a Toyota remote to your car.......which they can't, because almost none of those ever came with factory keyless entry.
I'm surprised they didn't call in an outside vendor to install an aftermarket keyless entry, and then charge you a markup for it.
Anyway, yeah, just go into anyplace that sells car alarms. You'd probably pay around $100-150 for keyless entry installed. Or for maybe $100 more than that, remote start with keyless entry, even better.
