I just put in a viper 5900 in my bros 2001 grand prix gtp. the locks are working good, as well as the trunk release. door pins and disarm are alright to. I got the parking lights hooked up. My bypass is the Idatalink ads-dl
I programed the tach first. it showed me the led lighting up constant.when i go to remote start it, it doesn't give me a response at all. The parking lights should flash once but don't. i am pressing it twice and still nothing. I hooked up my bitwriter and changed the tach signal to voltage but STILL nothing. i tried grounding out the activation switch but i get nothing. even if i unplug all the other connections on the unit(except for the ribbon and the 10 or 12 pin connector for the trunckrelease and door pins) and just tried the basic setup without the brake input but NO luck.
I don't know what i am doing wrong. does the nuetral safety switch have to be grounded?
Do i have to hook up the Activation wire(grey/black)
I even unplugged the bypass!
I know i have the right ignition and accessories. you don't have to hook up the brown accessory for the remote start. I have hooked up the starter kill up properly (The green to the key side and the purple to the starter side)
I wonder if it is the unit or am i just doing something WRONG!
I know it is just some stupid connection i am not seeing.
My bro is on MY CASE!
Thanks

yes, take the neutral safety  to a good solid ground point. as for the activation wire (gray/black) no need to connect this. just de pin it or tape up the end properly.
