hello i have an 06 denali. they stole the mirrors off the sides of my truck, just the glass mirror. i thought this was stupid until i went to the dealer to replace them and they wanted $600 !! anyhow i have to replace them but i dont want to be a target for this guy everytime he needs some quick cash just come and steal my mirrors. none of my local installers say there is anything i can do to protect it but proximity alarms but there must be another way. i live in nyc and the proximity alarm will be going off all the time. can u guys think of anything? i cant be the first person with this problem

This is a good way to add security to the mirrors: http://www.autotechs.com/items/item366.htm

You epoxy glue one sensor to the inside of each mirror and run the wires into the vehicle following the OEM wiring. They detect resonance (vibration) very well.

I don't work for them and cannot vouch for their business practices and you can probably find the same thing through a Carbine/Magnadyne dealer or eBay. Good luck.

A closed loop sensor (DEI 502T?) would probably work too tied into your alarm.

...or maybe a magnetic switch if there is room for it behind the glass anywhere....
