I installed a Hornet 564t and has been working great but today when i wanted to leave my truck running in actually engaged the starter and tried to do again! I quickly hit the brake and shut the truck off and tried the remote start. It turned the starter over only to have it not keep running and do all sorts of weird things. I fiddled with a few things and then it worked but still won't take over after having run the truck with the key in. Any ideas what this could be? The truck is a 97 ranger if it even matters.
Thanks!

Are you using voltage sense or tach sense? I could see this with voltage. How's the ground?

I'm using the tach wire, i was thinkin that could possibly be the problem. The other thing i noticed was that my switch to turn it off didn't work, it would try either way. How the heck is that possible?

you had the neutral safety wired up to a switch. I would do away with switch and ground direct with unit ground. The neutral safety isn't needed with most automatic vehicles today.
Try checking with a good computer safe test light for power or for a true voltage reading use a dmm. Reground as needed and try to use a factory ground point or a bolt under dash that goes directly to metal surface.
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

I run all my grounds to a factory ground under the drivers side kick panels. By check for voltage you mean the tach wire ac voltage you can test for?
