Do all of the 2000 Montero Sports have a transponder key?
If not how do I tell?
Will the PKUMIT work without a scan-tool?
How about Fortan?
Thanks for the input!

They started with year 2000 for transponders. One way to check is to wrap the key head in four layers of aluminum foil then use that key to see if it starts or not. If it fails to stay running then you have a transponder key.

You can program the PKUMIT with two valid keys.

Fortin has the PATS-MITSUBISHI-1 PATS bypass kit for Mitsubishi vehicles. Includes a built-in transponder, programming required, no key required.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

Thanks Big Dog, that is exactly what I needed to know (and what I hoped to find out.) Thank you very much.
