My audiovox aps996a installed in my 1999 ford f150 stopped working all of the way recently. The remote start won't work (it'll crank but won't start, I'm guessing it has something to do with the PATS system) and my keyless entry no longer functions as it should, my door locks work with the buttons in the truck but not from the remote. The weird part is is that both of these stopped working at the same time. Is there anything obvious that would cause something like this to happen?

I suppose I should've mentioned that the alarm functions just fine as well as the remote, it's just that when I try to remote start, the truck cranks but never starts, and when I arm/disarm the alarm the locks don't lock and unlock as they should.

for remote starting, it sounds like you need to reprogram the tach. did it recently get cold in the area? if so the unit it seeing the tach higher than normal and wont allow it to start. Also take note of the security light in your cluster. if its flashing during remote start, its a pats bypass problem.

door locks, it could be relay problems or if they/you used a bypass (data) that did door locks, triggers etc, it might be a loose connection or the bypass is just going bad which is rare.

The Theft light is flashing rapidly when I try to start it, and I installed the system and set up the locks using 2 relays in the 5 wire configuration. I'll take a look at all of the connections to make sure there's nothing loose

if you got flashing cluster security light, you have an issue with your bypass. what bypass did u use? a data or a relay and resistor method? i can show u how to diagnose it.

look at your bypass, make sure the BLUE wire is receiving ground during remote starting. This wire will be connected to the audiovox units GROUND WHEN RUNNING. The pinout should be engraved into the back of the brain. I havent installed audiox products for a while, but if i remember it used to be GRAY. but check your wiring guide and see.
