i have a 508D proximity sensor on my viper 5900 - newly installed. how do i go about adjusting sensitivity? thanks

Start with the interior violation zone,then the exterior warn away zone.You want your interior zone to set off the alarm about a foot inside the windows.The exterior is up to you but i suggest to set it right at the glass,that way if someone is attempting to look in your vehicle it'll trigger the warn away,but not if someone is just walking past.That will get annoying especially on your two way remote.

Then, on a nice foggy moist day, you won't be able to get within 25 feet of the car. You'll fix the adjustment for this type of climate..... then you'll get those hot dry days and

the alarm will never trigger. The science behind those devices hasn't changed in 15 or more years. Be ready for falsing problems.

When ever I had a customer that was firm about his/her choice for one of these units I explained to them that air density makes a difference.

It was allways set up only as warn away, never full trigger.

ok thanks.

currently, the proximity is installed under the cup holder console by the front dashboard. i have a 4 dr car with a trunk. for some reason, the sensor picks up exterior motion that happens from the rear passenger doors to the end of the car, but it doesn't pick up motion starting from the from driver's side and front passenger side doors to the hood. any reason?

You should mount it in the roof lining facing downwards, space permitting, also for your mental health use a switch on the outer zone because you can set it up perfectly for someone coming up to the car and looking in but then you street park the car and a bus or truck sets it off. And I'm not even going to go into the joys of shock sensors or glass breakers near military airfields.
