i recently installed a used astrostart 2006 model into a 2002 chevy silverado (automatic). when i use the remote start, the transmission acts up. it shifts funny and i only get first and second gear. when this happens i can pull over, turn off the truck, wait ten seconds, start the truck with the key and everything is fine again. any ideas?

i had this problem with a viper alarm a few months ago.  it was all due to the accessory wires not being diode isolated and the ignitions not being diode isolated.
you can do it....

The truck's white second ignition wire is not being powered by the remote start. DO NOT drive the truck after remote it until it is fixed. This is widely known by installers that that wire needs to be hooked up or else transmission problems (and possibly permanent damage) will occur.

I think you should make sure the 2nd ignition wire is being powered up during remote start!

If you used an Astro passlock module, it has an output for the second ign......hook it up.

If not, use one of the programable outputs on the 252 connector programmed for ign. to trigger a relay.
