I have found out that my trunk is not protected by my alarm. Its not easy for my to run the trunk light switch to the door input on my alarm because I have a mercury switch. I was thinking of installing a hood pin switch in for the trunk and simply wire it to the hood pin using a diode. Doing this would protect my trunk as soon as its opened BUT also means that I cant remote start my car with it opened. I guess this would be a good idea just incase I accidently had my trunk opened enough to ground the pin but not enough for me to tell its opened. I dont know what else to run the pin to. I also want to install a tilt sensor but am wondering where the best place is to mount it. Should it be in the center of the car or doesnt that matter? I am going to wire that sensor into my shock sensor (since I only have 1 sensor input) and use diodes. What would be the best place to mount the sensor. Thank you in advance.

You do not need diodes in this application.

diodes for the sensors to 1 sensor input you mean? If so, I thought that would work too since my alarm brain cant tell which actual sensor is triggering the alarm. So I just simply have to wire all the sensors trigger wires together without diodes? Another thing. What do you think about me running a pin switch in my trunk and running it to my hood pin wire?

So I dont need any diodes to run the sensors into the single sensor input? I was also thinking of putting a pin switch right behind my back seat so if the seat was pulled forward, the alarm would sound. Where would be a good place to run that wire to, on the alarm?

What would be the best way to run the trunk pin switch; splice into the door trigger or splice into the hood pin switch wire?
