I have a commando FM 2 way alarm system in my 2000 accord (old alarm). I installed it 7 years ago and suddenly couple of weeks ago my parking lights stop flashing when I would disarm and/or arm. I thought my parking light wire from my alarm got lose over time and thought I would take care of it later. After 2 weeks or so, I could not autostart my car. When I push the button on my remote the alarm would receive the signal and activate my ignition wires correctly. But when it was time to activate my starter wire I could only hear clicking noises and the car would not start.

I then checked my wiring system on my alarm and found that my power and parking lights wires were shot at the harness which plugs into the alarm brain. Does anyone know what might have caused this and how I could fix it? I cant even pull out the harness from the brain because it looks like it burned and melted the plastic harness on the pins of the alarm brain. Any help would be apperciated.

thanks!

This is due to a constant heavy current draw. Not to be confused with a short circuit.

Pry connector from unit and test which wires no loger contact the pins. Remove these wires from plug and pass a new wire straight through the plug and solder onto pin at module. Solder quickly - don't overheat pin.

If one of these wires was a parklight wire then add a relay to drive the parklights.

Carefully plug connector back into module.

Fuse all wires appropriately.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
