Hello all and thank you for your help.

I have installed 2 remote start systems so far and going for #3.

This will be on a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. I plan to use a CAN-SL2 as I understand it is a time saver by interfacing with the car's computer.

My question is: What remote starter /alarm interfaces best with the CAN-SL2 for ease of installation. My understanding is that a starter with a data port works best, or you can go wire to wire with the can-sl2. Is it a big difference?

Would you go with a Code Alarm SRT-9000? (I can get a good price on one).

I also have a PkH3 which I will use for the bypass.

what ever u do buy a DEI. only way to go. easiest to install and program

You know that CANSL2 will NOT do transponder right? I would personally use a IDATALINK module the ADS-AL CA flash it with the HA firmware and use a Compustar since it supports its 2way data.

If your using the CANSL2 you can also use the Compustar as well. But your going to need to change a group option 4-11-2 (CM5 series brain).

Or get the DUO-CAN-1 rom Fortin. this will cover data and transponder. Word

I will be using the can-sl2 and the hon-sl3 which equals the DUO-CAN-1... I got that.

My question is however, what remote starts work well in the data link mode with the Fortin? As I said I realize I can go wire to wire but rather not fool around. Thanks.
