looking for an alarm 1993 jeep wrangler

Hey folks,

Just bought a mint 1993 Wrangler and I am looking for a basic alarm. I have been out of the aftermarket auto scene for a few years now, so I am a bit out of touch with current alarm trends. I have installed several alarms in the past, but need some advice on my latest project.

So I have a 93 Wrangler, jeep has a lift, nice mud tires/wheels, and Sirius radio... it has 45k original miles and is in great shape considering it's 15 years old. I need a basic, reliable alarm. My wants are basically a dual zone shock sensor, and a dual zone prox sensor. I'm guessing the alarm only needs to be basic since the vehicle is so primative - I will not be hooking up much really, the ignition wires, the flashers, the two sensors... and that's really it. Probably won't bother with the dome light supervision, don't need locks, or a remote starter, or windows... none of that jazz.

So I've done a bit of price shopping, and found these alarms, and just wondering if you have any advice on what's the best deal, and what's the best fit for my needs. I prefer to stay with DEI alarms because they have always worked well for me.

Clifford Matrix 12.5 - $180.00 - (always been partial to Cliffords, always worked well for me, but on this alarm it seems like I might be paying for stuff I don't need with the jeep)

Avital 2300 - $80 - (had an Avital in the past and if memory serves me well, it always did ok for me)

Viper 350HV - $100 - (never had a Viper alarm)

** Again, want to add a prox sensor to the alarm, probably a DEI 508D. Can I just tap the shock sensor wires, or do I need a dedicated input?

So wondering if you fine people could point me in a certain direction, or if any of these alarms are horrible, or problematic, please let me know. Or if you have a better suggestion, please do speak up. My path seems pretty straightforward, but wanted to check in for some advice to hopefully save a headache. Any help is much appreciated!

Isn't Avital a DEI made alarm as well?

I'm assuming that the Avital / Viper would more than do the job. I just want to make sure they don't really suck for some odd reason, and that I can add the prox sensor with little effort (not sure how to wire the prox, all the prox sensors I had in the past were plug and play).

Not too concerned with the lock/unlock features because I don't even lock the doors on the jeep (cloth top). A single button would be fine to arm / disarm. I like that the Clifford remote beeps when the alarm is tripped - that's a nice feature.

Just found a Viper 1002 for $160 shipped, which seems like a nice setup as well.

So assuming that all of thes alarms will do the trick, how hard would it be to add the prox sensor? Does it need a dedicated input or can i just tap the shock sensor wires?
