'01 eclipse died on me

Okay, first a little introduction to the problem.  My manager's car died on him about three weeks ago, and it just plain wouldn't crank, no ignition, no crank, no gauges. no lights.  He got it towed to a mechanic and he "fixed" the problem, and claimed that it had to do with the alarm that was in it.  He said that it had something to do with the starter wire, but I looked in there today and there was nothing done to the starter kill relay (starter wire)at all.  Nothing doing right now. 

So my manager asked me to remove the alarm that was in there just to be certain that it doesn't die on him again.  Pull the alarm out, (locks, lights, door trigger, brain) and remove the starter kill relay (that wasn't touched by the mechanic) to factory.  Cool.....nothing crosses my mind yet!  Go to crank the car and it doesn't turn or crank, no light and no gauges.  No biggie....yet!  Check the fuses, (with DMM) and all are good.  Car sits for about 5 minutes and now it cranks but it doesn't turn over.  Now I'm getting worried....ok so i check the constant in the ignition and it's good (12.5 volts).  Crank it again and now it doesn't do anything, No crank/turn/gauges.  Headlights will turn on with the switch.  So I check starter wire for 12 volts, and i get nothing.  Check ignition wire and i get nothing. 

Now I try to disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes and still nothing.  I've even disconnected the front ECU for 10 minutes and still nothing.  I've tried putting new relays and nothing.  What else can i try?  I'm kind of out of ideas and was hoping for some help.  Any help is appreciated.  The ignition wire(green) and the starter wires(BLACK/ red) are not receiving 12 volts at all, and have checked everything i can think of. 

I'm beginning to think that the mechanic just got lucky, but who knows.  He did get it working, so i guess he's on the better end.

HAHA........I win.  It turns out it was the main ignition harness!  It wasn't completely plugged in but did make enough contact to allow the main power to connect.  I took apart the ignition column and noticed it.  The actual factory zip tie was too tight, and pulled on it just enough to keep it from making proper contact. 

Check this out....I called the mechanic and he said that he "wiggled the wires, and spliced some other wires together, and then it worked."  Well that was a bunch of BS.....there were no wires spliced together and he did in fact get lucky!

Car.........0.........I almost gave up though.......dang it feels good to finally find the problem!  Hopefully nobody has this problem, but if you do that's where I would look!
