bad hornet 564t 2 way remote?

a friend of a friend installed a hornet 564T remote start alarm in my 2007 honda element. and im less than satisfied with the end result. he hasn't yet finished the install, we're waiting for the immobilizer bypass to come in, but he has installed everything else. the 564T unit, a back up battery, and a interior pizzo siren. the alarm functions.. the early warn is not working (don't know if its related) but my main concern is the performance of my 2 way remote. the installer says its the quality of the alarm. being its "entry level" of 2 way alarms, its how it is. i refuse to belive the range of the 2 way alarm is hit and miss 10 feet in front of the car being arm'ed and unarm'ed. i took a video, and put it on youtube.. please comment on what you think. as you can see the 1 way remote works great. the 2 way can't send for doodie.. but receives just fine. the 1 way also works every time, where as the 2 way is intermittent. anyways, comment please. Uhh, although the system is an 'entry level' 2-way for DEI, it is still a quality system. I really do not like this installer's explanation of the problem. It is possible the remote is bad, however unlikely. I would suggest a couple of things to try. 1. Make sure there is no coiled up antenna wire under the dash. 2. Try reprogramming the 2-way remote. 3. Try re-syncing the remote by simply unplugging the antenna for a few seconds and replugging it. 4. New battery in 2-way remote 5. Try turning off the code-hopping feature of the system Again it is possible the system is defective, but I can not tell you how many of that same exact system I have installed and never had any issues.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

ok, the obvious was done, replaced the battery with a new coppertop, and i had to go into the dash, and view the antenna's wiring and make sure the plug was secure.. so i unplugged it, and actually unplugged the whole alarm, let everything sit for about 5 mins. unplugged the back up battery, made sure the alarm completely reset. so i don't know how to reset the remote, im sure the installer does, but right now im at his convince, its basically when he wants to call me. and i'll have to ask him about the code hoping also.. is this something i prolly want to leave on, or is it "ok" to turn it off?
