i am new to installing security system. i think i have figured out all the wire hook ups except the door lock control wires. the wiring diagram i found here from chungo https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~59369

this is good info but questions i have are, do i just tap the wire noted in this list? i don't have to cut them do i? the instructions for the viper 5002 i have that is closest to my door lock wiring (there are 8 possible types of door lock circuits) shows i have to cut factory wires to the lock motors.

this viper system has onboard relays and the door lock harness wire connection guide shows these wires from the relay harness on the module:

WHITE/ black - lock #87a normally closed

GREEN/ black - lock #30 common (output)

violet black - lock #87a normally open (input)

BROWN / black - unlock#87a normally closed

blue/black - unlock #30 common (output)

violet - unlock #87 normally open (input)

which of these wires connect to the ones shown in chungo's wiring diagram? am i an idiot or what?

any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

Cut off the White and Brown wires(not used) .  Purple goes to (-)Ground.  Green goes to the lock (green) Blue goes to Unlock (purple).  Yes it's that simple.

The hatch should locl and unlock with those wires also.    Try connecting the RED / White stripe wire from the alarm to the orange.  You should'nt need to though.

ok. thanks. i already had the RED / white going there, but wasn't sure. will try without first, and if it doesn't work, i'll hook up the RED / white to the orange.

i am sure i will have other questions. back to you all then. thanks

ok i'm back. bear with me please, just need to get a few more ducks in a row before the install.

my setup: 2008 scion tc without factory security system.     dei viper 5002 without remote start.

i need guidance on the following connections. i have an idea what to do with some, but i want to be sure, hear it from the experianced.

Primary harness:

1.) H1/7 blue (-) instant trigger input - can i hook up to trunk hatch pin and battery backup and  tilt sensor?

2.) H1/10 WHITE/ blue 200ma (-) chanel 3 output - don't know what i would hook this to.

Auxiliary harness:

3.) H2/1 light blue (-) second unlock output (200ma) - have no idea if i need to hook this up. i am happy doing the 2 pulses to unlock the other doors if this makes a difference.

4.) H2/3 ORANGE / black (-) retained accessory output - is this required to be connected? note says additional relay required for most apps.

5.) H2/4 gray/black (-) channel 6 output , H2/5 WHITE/ black (-) channel 5 output, H2/6 violet/black (-) channel 4 output - for validity, latched, latched reset with ign, 30 second timed - i assume these are for additional accessories or sensors. are these required to be connected?

6.) H2/7 light brown (-) horn honk output (200ma) - i do not want the horn to honk when arm/disarm, only the siren chirp. this can be left unconnected, right?

7.) H2/8 light GREEN/ black (-) factory disarm output - i have no factory alarm, therefore this can be left unconnected, right?

immobilizer harness:

8.) GREEN/ black, green, GREEN / WHITE - my scion has a key immobilizer that will be used, therefore i do not need this harness at all, right? does the same thing doesn't it?

FYI: i will also be installing the following dei accessories:

507M tilt sensor, 506T audio sensor (plug-n-play), 530T power window automation system, and 520T battery backup system, all of which will interface with the viper 5002. any connection conflicts jump out at anyone? i also will be installing the dei 545t nite-lite system, but it will not be interfaced with the viper. stand alone only.

i really appreciate any and all advice, information or constructive criticism that anyone can give me while i tackle this install. thanks.

Whew, ok.  Item 1, yes.  WHITE/ Blue, CH3, you dont need it.  Lt Blu 2nd unlock, you dont need it.  Org/Blk RAP you dont need it.  Everything in line 5 you dont need  Horn honk, you dont need it. Lt Grn Blk FAD, you dont need it.  You dont need the starter kill harness.

I would recommend wiring the Blk wire on the 506T right to ground, not getting the ground from the plug that it's wired to.  It'll false if you dont.  leave the rest of the plug alone and plug it into one of the sensor ports.  And can't you use one of the sensor ports for that Tilt/motion instead of cramming it on with two other sensors on that hood zone(?)  It'll make it easy to troubleshoot when it falses when you're sleeping.

The horn honk is nice, and it's programmable, so nothing for arm/disarm, but it'll sound for full alarm, nice!

I would use the Orange GWA to trigger the 530T to rollup, or use the GWA to trigger the Nite Lite for lites when arming or disarming!

Use the Whi/Blu to trigger the 530T, or the545T

OK excellent. Thanks Mark.

about the tilt sensor and sensor port, the wires for the sensor don't have a plug to plug into the security module ports. they are straight wires, the only plug is for the sensor side.

horn honk - hook it up and program to only go off on full alarm, is that what you meant? sounds good.

i got the rest, thanks again. i'll let you know how it went after the install.
