ok, i am new, and i looked around quite a bit and couldnt find my answer, so im sorry if it was posted before....i have a 2000 dodge neon, and would like to have a push button start. this is how i would like it setup, and i was hoping i could have someone tell me what wire to what relay type of deal...thanks!
i would like a toggle switch to turn the power on, like putting the key in the on position, then a momentary switch to ignite. i want the end result to be no key in the ignition. as for the stearing lock, i can turn the key in the ignition, and take it out in the on position, then just disable the wires at the ignition so i dont have power running constantly, only when the toggle is on.    also this car has the sentry keyless entry thing, and im pretty sure i can use a 556UW from DEI to make the car think the key is in the ignition....

You can easily connect this setup with relays controlled by the toggle switch.  Your starter would be controlled by the momentary push button through another relay.  You will have to use multiple relays for the Ignition, Accessory, and Second Accessory.

The 556U can be used to bypass the sentry key just like a remote start.  The problem you'll encounter is that anyone who gets into your car could drive away with it.  If you have an alarm, you could control the 556U with the "ground when armed" output so that when the alarm system is enabled, your 556U is bypassed.  This would give you some security to prevent a stolen car.

ok, well im not very knowlegeable in this...i know how to wire things, not to catch things on fire, etc...but i dont know what type of relays, how many, what to hook to what, etc....so if someone wouldnt mind doing a little picture in paint, or making a detailed write up, that would be great...

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
