Hi there,
I installed a remote starter ASTRA 1000RS on my Mercury Villager, 93 using wiring diagram from this site. It works well for a warm engine. But on a cold one (it's not winter time yet) it starts (not always) after 2nd or 3rd attempt even though it cranks the engine for while on a first one...
I tried to adjust the run time and and "RPM Learn " mode - did not help to much for situation...
What might be the cause?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Serguei

I encountered the same issue on my own personal van, a Caravan. I was using an injector wire and worked fine after the initial start in the morning(even in warm weather). I switched to a true tach wire and all is well...

Find your tach at the PCM behind the glove box. Blue wire.

Or extend crank tim.  If tach not correct it well either run for 15 secs then cut-out or starter motor will grind.
