Hi, hope someone can help. I have an 03 accord that has an Audiovox Prestige remote start/alarm system installed. The problem I'm having is that the system and remote no longer chirps. It does occassionally. It normally gives a confirmation chirp or chirps upon arming or unlocking or starting the engine. Anyone know what can be causing this?

Sorry, just to clarify, I believe the system I have is the APS-995 or APS-996. The transmitter I have is the 5BCR. I hope this helps. I am not too knowledgeable in these matters. Thanks for your help in advance.

It could be you turned the chirps off by mistake. Try key on, key off, press valet button 3 times. Also, if it's in valet it woun't chirp. Is the lED lit solid when you turn the key on?

Thx, I will try per your suggestions when I get my car back tomorrow. Unfortunately, my remote has been through some tough times and I won't be able to tell you if the light will be lit solid.

He's talking about the LED drilled into the car's dashboard, the one that flashes when the alarm is armed.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I went through the process of turning key on, off, then button 3 times and the sound system chirps as it normally did. However, the transmitter (remote) still doesn't chime. I replaced the battery and upon putting the new battery in, the transmitter chimes so the speaker is not broken. It doesn't chime to confirm lock, unlock, etc. I've looked at the manual but can't find the answer. What do you guys think?
