I am planning to wire up my boot (trunk) light so it comes on when open.
I have a switch which cuts continuity when the boot is shut. Planning to wire this so when the boot is open it provides a ground for both the light and alarm. I believe this will result in positive being connected to the alarm ground trigger wire. Is this likely to damage the alarm?
Thanks in advance

On any negative pin switch on just about any vehicle has 12 volts on the wire when the door is closed. As stated above it will work just fine.
